Friday Night Bloggin, Back

by emlodnaor No Comments »

So I’m back in Norway for a week. Now I’ve been to Ulsrud, and just came back from the first meeting of this Inspiration Weekend.

It’s odd being back here… I felt at home, but was quickly reminded that I had no home here. I couldn’t just take the train to Skøyen, and walk into my old apartment :p Instead i ended up visiting people, walking around in town, buying some gloves, and playing tourist for a while, plus eating at a vegetarian restaurant, yum-yum.

The meeting tonight was a good one, and I wish my memory was too, so i could retell it in some detail.

Instead i’m going to leave you hanging, and give you a link to an really interesting insight to Hollywood.

Friday Night Blogging, Birthday

by emlodnaor 3 Comments »

God is good :)

As I was going to bed last night, after a long day of work in the Malmö Adventist Church, doing some electrician work there, and Trucksitting*, I suddenly realized that my birthday was coming up. I had kind of forgotten about it.
*Trucksitting, Sleep in the LifeStyleTV Production Truck, when it is in town, to make sure no one breaks in etc.

The day began with sleep, and I didn’t really get up until 9. After that i ate some good breakfast and started working on my tasks. Now, you might think that starting your birthday with work would be a little boring. But the fact is, I like my work. I’m lucky enough to say, that God have lead my life in a direction where work is fun, and a blessing.

After all that was done, I expected to stay in Malmö and do Trucksitting. But apparently there had been a change in plans, and I where going home, and someone else where doing that. On our way home, I talked to a woman from norway that is visiting this weekend, and apperantly her church is the same church as the one i grew up in (Eidså), she lives in Norfjoreid, so she’s not there so often, but it was amazing to randomly meet her like that. It was a blessing to get to know her, she’s a sweet woman. (She even suggested that I should get to know her daughter :p, but quickly added that she isn’t an Adventist yet, but she was working with her :p)

When we got back to LifeStyleTV, there was a HUGE surprise party waiting, and I’m talking HUGE! For starters, there where so many ppl, that during worship some was sitting way into the kitchen, others where halfway in to the bedroom, forced away from sitting to close to the oven. I never counted, but i would estimate that we where 20+. Then there was the food, my favorite! Highstack, Taco, not to forget the yummy homemade + ice-cream desert.  YumYumYum+NomNomNom

All in all a blessed and eventful day.

Among the huge amount of email i got today (most of which where facebook wall messages, about 62 of them i think) there where one email in particular that stuck out from the crowd. It had a strange title, and a random body, read the translated version below:

Hello Future

The following is an e-mail from the past, composed on Monday, November 14, 2005, and sent via FutureMe.org

Well, this is kind of exciting, to send a mail to my own future.
Wonder what i’ll do then.
I’m just sitting here, thinking about sleeping.
Cant really send this mail to far either, want to be sure that it makes it there.
I’m currently playing electrician, been doing so for two and a half month now.
Don’t know what more to say.
Merry Christmas, or no… Let’s say Happy birthday.

I hope the car (the first one) is still alive, I don’t think i have money for a new one, if you have bought one.

I sincerely hope that you are still holding on to God, and are placing you life in his hands each and every day. Do remember to thank him for all the things that he does for you! :)

Love me!

I guess you understood that the last part of my email, was the most touching one to me. I really do have a lot to thank God for, first of which is the fact that he is still holding on to me.

If I simply let him lead, the results are always filled with joy. But I can easily slip every now and then, not fully trusting him, and letting him have all my life, every day, giving him everything.

Starting today, I will once again place the whole of my life, every day of it, in his saving hands. Take me, lead me, use me.

Why? There is just something about life with God, once you’ve tasted it, everything else is rubbish.

Friday Night Blogging, Sabbath

by emlodnaor No Comments »

It’s Sabbath :D

I truly love the feeling of, stress down, relax, lean back, and welcoming the Sabbath each and every week. Especially so, when the week has been up to it’s ears with things to do, but I also get the same feeling on less eventful weeks. There is just something special about entering the Sabbath hours.

Jesus sure knew what he was talking about when he said that “So he went on to say to them: “The sabbath came into existence for the sake of man, and not man for the sake of the sabbath;” (Mar 2:27).

Take time to stress down, talk to God, and focus on him.

Friday Night Blogging, Haiti

by emlodnaor No Comments »

The Following is a copy&paste from a recent WhiteHorseMedia Newsletter:

As I write this, my heart is saddened by breaking news today of another strong earthquake rocking Haiti. As we all ponder the terrible destruction and loss of life, questions about God naturally arise. What is going on? Is He involved? Does He care? Is this another “sign” of a much larger, looming disaster?

First of all (as mentioned in a previous e-news), I want to stress that Jesus Christ plainly predicted that “great earthquakes” would strike planet Earth. “There shall be great earthquakes in various places” (Luke 21:11), declared the Master. Not only that, but such quakes will be one of many “signs” (verse 11), or footsteps, of an approaching God (verses 27, 28).

Second, yes, God does care about the inhabitants living on that suffering island nation. He sees, He feels, He knows. Angels weep as they see the awful devastation—especially upon the children—and I have no doubt that they are active at this exact moment assisting rescue, military, and medical workers help the needy. Miracle stories continue of survivors being rescued from the rubble. Thank the Lord.

But there is another dimension that it is appropriate to consider. The fact is that more than half of Haiti’s 9 million inhabitants practice Voodoo, Haiti’s dominant religion, and that some of the grossest forms of immorality are rampant. Significantly, much of Haiti’s dark Voodoo previously migrated to New Orleans—a city mostly destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Recently, I read a stunning quotation from one of my favorite authors who I believe was guided by the Holy Spirit. Take note:

“I am bidden to declare the message that cities full of transgression, and sinful in the extreme, will be destroyed by earthquakes, by fire, by flood. All the world will be warned that there is a God who will display His authority as God. His unseen agencies will cause destruction, devastation, and death.” Evangelism, p. 27

Evidence indicates that Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, fits the category of a city “full of transgression, and sinful in the extreme.” On January 12, at 4:53 pm, it was virtually “destroyed” by an earthquake. On the morning of August 29, 2005, New Orleans experienced its own disaster from the sky. Now notice how Jesus Christ puts both earthquakes and sky events together as clear “signs” of His approaching return.

And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven… Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:11, 27, 28).

Yes, God is speaking to His world through these disasters. Whether He directly causes them, or merely allows them, nevertheless, they can be biblically classified as divine “judgments” to be taken seriously. No one knows how much longer God will continue to tolerate sin on planet Earth. Soon, “the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night” (2 Peter 3:10), and Jesus Christ will come suddenly to rescue those who have repented of their sins, have accepted His gospel, and become loyal to their Maker.

As we witness today’s solemn events, May God help us to hear His voice, and to get ready, get ready, get ready, for what is coming upon the earth.
